I have Meniere's Disease, one of the symptoms of which is vertigo. I haven't had any in about a year or so, but sometimes it's been mild that lasted for days, and very sudden/serious that lasted for a couple hours. I keep generic Dramamine on hand in case I get dizzy.

This doesn't sound like THAT, at least, unless you have tinnitus as well.
