Argh! So that didn't work at all.
Time's winged chariot pressing me on, I made the mistake of rushing Mr. X, by talking about what we were about to do -- put on clothes, walk to the bus, visit CMOM. Bzzt! No, thank you.
He spent the next 40 minutes lying in the hallway. Just when I figured he'd forgotten why he was lying there, playing with whatever lay within reach, he sprung up to his videogame box, turned it on and said, "We have to stay and play, mom. Stay and play!"
And now it's 3pm. We do have a packed lunch, but the CMOM closes at 5pm, or just before. And (as we're experiencing today), he has trouble with transitions. So no CMOM. And it's too damp and chilly to play outside.
Methinks indoor pursuits win out again, today.
Tomorrow, zoo, dammit!
Oh, I've invited some moms and kids over for Friday afternoon, to sing songs and glue paper and stuff. But I have low expectations of anyone showing up. So you're invited to drop by -- anytime between 2 and 7pm, to snack and sing or strum and snip. RSVP in comments or e-mail or by calling 917 204-1175.
P.S. No Internet for the last 24 hours -- we did indeed spend all yesterday indoors. And are now working on getting motivated for today. (Am devilled by wanting to stick my head under the covers and stay there.)
