Yesterday I finished a pair of long-standing socks (I bitched about the yarn at length in knitting). Today I will weave in their ends and wash them.

Two at a time is clearly the way for me to go -- I have chronic SSS (second sock syndrome). I bought new needles that will hopefully reduce the irritation. I knitted that pair with a mismatched set of Addi turbos, one needle too small and one too large, the wires too stiff and different lengths. I have splurged on new Addi premiums(?), hollow brass with a flexible cable, one pair in the right size (US1, 5mm), 24" (it seemed unobjectionable). Also one size 1 with an extra-long cable (45"?), to heed the call of the lace shrug/shawl/wrap.

Am settling down with the fishghan (tessellating fish afghan, 3.5 fish down, dozens to go), clean laundry (for folding), creamed spinach, maple carrots, mushroom tart, apple-peach tart, potato casserole (ala 1ginko, with fingerling potatoes, onions, peppers, sour cream, parmesan and cheddar), tri-color chips and guacamole, and maybe taquitos and roast chicken (and sweet tea and chocolate chip cake), to watch the Giants / Patriots game this afternoon. Boy and sprog will be across the street at a family party.

I bought lighted needles for the fishghan -- very bright and so nifty.
